Job Summary:
The Cell Biologist will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of cell biology, focusing on the study of cellular structure, function, and behavior. The incumbent will contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and understanding through the design, execution, and analysis of experiments using various techniques and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and execute experiments to investigate cellular processes and mechanisms.
2. Conduct detailed analysis and interpretation of experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
3. Collaborate with a team of researchers to develop and refine research methodologies and protocols.
4. Perform cellular imaging and microscopy, including live cell imaging and confocal microscopy.
5. Cultivate and maintain various cell lines and primary cell cultures, ensuring optimal growth and viability.
6. Apply molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gene expression analysis, and cloning.
7. Utilize flow cytometry and cell sorting techniques for analysis and isolation of specific cell populations.
8. Conduct cell-based assays, including proliferation, apoptosis, and migration assays.
9. Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
10. Prepare and present research findings in scientific conferences, seminars, and publications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Master's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
2. Proven experience in cell biology research, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
3. Strong knowledge of cellular structure, function, and behavior, including expertise in cellular imaging and microscopy techniques.
4. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gene expression analysis, and cloning.
5. Familiarity with flow cytometry and cell sorting techniques.
6. Experience in cell culture techniques, including the maintenance of cell lines and primary cell cultures.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute experiments independently.
8. Proficient in data analysis software and tools, with the ability to interpret and present experimental results effectively.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings in scientific conferences and publications.
